Everything I said about the first Ant-Man also applies here. This was similarly lauded, with an 88% approval rating and a box office gross north of both $600 million and three times the budget.

Guess what? It’s even better than the original! In addition to the laughs, thrills, and charms from last time you also get moving emotional moments as Hope’s mother, talked about powerfully last time, becomes a major character this time. That’s without sacrificing time for a great main plot involving a strong villain – the guy who played Chris Mannix in The Hateful Eight serves that role this time. The three hapless associates of Scott get even more time to do their funny stuff too.

Really, it’s everything you expect in an Ant-Man movie and then some. I hope we see more of him after Avengers: Endgame.

Game: One Oscar winner (Michael Douglas), two nominees (Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne)

Up next: Well I already did Captain Marvel so I guess Endgame is next!

Note: Even though I mentioned the great cast in Captain Marvel I hadn’t started playing the game so I’ll do that now. One Oscar winner (Brie Larson), SIX nominees (Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, Annette Bening, Jude Law, both Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle briefly)

Bottom line: Terrific time.
